Vitamin D and Testerone Levels

Natural medicine is much like politics or the stock market. Blink and you'll likely miss a lot of important information. But who has the time to live a full life and thoroughly research the greatest and latest information about alternative and complementary medicine? One resource that can help keep you up to speed is HealthyFellow.com. Here are some of the tip-top stories presented on HF this passed week:

Link # 1 - The Latest News About Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Link # 2 - Vitamin D and Testosterone Levels in Men

Link # 3 - The Science Behind Music Therapy

Link # 4 - Generic Drugs and Proactive Patients

Legumes, Mastic Gum, Sea Salt and Vinegar News

2009 is winding down and 2010 is nearly upon us. This is a time of year where new resolutions begin to form in our minds. We want to be better people, healthier and to live life to it's fullest. These kinds of profound changes usually come with a significant price tag. There's one additional catch: money can't buy them. Only dedication, effort and sacrifice is an acceptable form of payment. But ultimately, if we invest ourselves wholeheartedly, we often find that the end result is a bargain. The rewards far outweigh any personal cost that was needed to make it happen.

HealthyFellow.com is a site which strives to provide free information that can be used to improve lives. Please have a look at this week's content and see if there's something there that might help you take a step in a better direction.

Alternate Day Fasting, Fenugreek and Heart Attack Protection

What do you look for when you seek out a source for natural health information? I personally try to find resources that provide evidence that supports what they write about - such as verifiable, scientific citations. Another essential characteristic of the alternative health sites I like best is accessibility. I want to be able to understand what's being explained and I also like it when sites allow readers to ask questions and receive answers. This greatly enriches my experience and helps me to understand the concepts much better. HealthyFellow.com is my favorite natural medicine site because it covers these bases very well. Here's an overview of the information I found on Healthy Fellow this past week.

Link - Fenugreek Research

Link - Dried Plums or Prunes - The Forgotten Superfruit

Link - Natural Heart Attack Protection

Link - Alternate Day Fasting

Link - An H1N1 Flu Success Story

As you can see from the titles of the links, the subject matter is pretty broad in scope. That's something I value as well. If you've never checked out Healthy Fellow, I highly recommend that you do so. There's even a feature on the site that allows you to receive all the weekday columns (for free) via e-mail. That's kind of a cool feature if you're interested in staying 100% up to date.

I hope some of you check out the site and benefit from it like I do. Please take care good yourselves and each other. See you next week!

ADHD, H1N1 and NAC for Mental Health

Last week was a real "humdinger" on HealthyFellow.com. I learned about new reasons to avoid being overweight, some dietary strategies that could lower my risk of developing cancer and there were even some revelations about natural ways to help with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and a variety of mental health concerns (addition, bipoloar disorder and schizophrenia). Friday's column was especially relevant given the worldwide concern about the H1N1 flu virus. Where else am I going to learn about this type of information?! Probably not from my doctor or the mainstream news.

Link 1 - New Reasons to Lose Weight

Link 2 - Citrus Fruits, Dietary Fiber and Multivitamins in the News!

Link 3 - NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) for Mental Health

Link 4 - ADHD and Cancer Prevention Updates

Link 5 - Antioxidants and H1N1 Flu

I hope you'll check these links out and that they'll be as informative and useful for you as they were for me.

Take good care ... of yourself and each other!
